What to imagine when you want less screen
Six kinds of thoughts that can continue after the phone is down.
The best screen-to-imagination transition gives you a place, a few useful details, and one open question. A cabin needs a window. An island needs a harbor. A train needs a direction, but not necessarily a destination.
Try designing a small place, walking through somewhere familiar, planning an unhurried journey, sorting ordinary objects, continuing an unfinished path, or furnishing one quiet room.
Stop reading as soon as the picture becomes yours. The screen has already done enough.
